ABOUT US

The Idea

As diasporans, we have always sought to merge our home country with our new country. We at Kulture Klash saw the popularity of African music and media but realised that African fashion had not yet reached the cultural zeitgeist. Thus an idea was born. African wear is popular among people in the UK  but for only special occasions. We don’t believe this is sufficient time to showcase our beautiful African prints and colours. By combining our cultural prints with everyday Western wear we aim to normalize the sight of our fabrics and change the public mindset from ‘celebratory’ to ‘casual’. We want to create a revolution in African fashion with unique pieces that are both affordable and stylish.

The Business

Kulture Klash Clothing is more than ten years old but we continue to grow and innovate in leaps and bounds. We were established in December 2013 and are located in Luton, England. Each year we add more and more variety to our catalogue and continue to do more research into making more inventive and creative collaboration between African fashion and western wear.

Clothes

All our pieces are carefully designed and passed on to a tailor to either create or alter. We source affordable African fabrics while maintaining quality and finesse. As a co-operation, we make decisions on designs together to ensure that everyone gets a voice. This can create varied but interesting pieces as we aim to change the fashion landscape.

Accessories

For our handmade accessories, we sketch our designs, pass them through the design process and then make them. At each point, they pass through rigorous quality control which includes things like weight testing and durability tests. Once the finishing touches are done, we hand them out to dry and bang! They are ready for you.
